Day 5 - Tuesday, 15January

Yesterday we started celebrating Steen’s birthday at sunrise with a generous Fernet-Branca.

« Happy 60, to you, Steen ».

This trip was meant to be pure relaxation - just enjoying the sun and the good weather.  

It is not so easy to do nothing, but we do our best.

Lanzarote is the fourth biggest of the 7 Canary Islands - at the north-east “corner”.  

870 km2 to compare with for example (Danish) Bornholm’s 590 km2.

Puerto del Carmen, where we are, is a buzy tourist resort, but as we are almost at the end of the Esplanade we hardly notice it.

From our terrace we see Isla de Lobos (Wolf Island) 

and behind that Fuerteventura (Island of strong winds)

Days are passing at slow motion ..... a healthy breakfast, some reading on the terrace, a morning walk on the beach, a game of cards or 13 holes on mini golf course.
